Everyone should share this experience. Founder Corien Elstgeest took part herself in a tour of Egypt several years ago and was especially entranced by the breathtaking desert landscape, which completely won her heart. She knew right away that she wanted to experience that sensation more often, together with people who shared her enthusiasm.

From her work as a holistic therapist and personal and educational adviser she found in the Egyptian desert the answer which so many people were looking for in her practice: to find yourself, far from the stress of everyday living with its material cares and worries.

When I first went to Egypt and encountered this enchanting landscape and the energy of Egyptian culture, I was sure of it: everyone should share this experience, says Corien. "It was love at first sight and Egypt was ushering in a new period in my life. After making the trip several more times myself, I decided to set up Desert Tours with help from the Bedouin whom I had got to know in the oasis village of Bahariya".
